The AfriCircular Innovators Programme

The AfriCircular Innovators Programme brings together innovators and initiatives working to advance the circular economy across Africa.

The programme needed a digital platform that could do more than provide information about the initiative. It needed a place where circularity projects could be showcased, programme information could be shared with cohorts, and anyone interested in circular economy innovation could explore the work being done across the continent.

The client also wanted to make learning about circularity more engaging. Rather than presenting what can be a complex subject through text-heavy content alone, they wanted an interactive experience that could make learning feel more accessible, engaging, and fun.

Touch Stack Technologies designed and developed the platform around these requirements, combining a dynamic CMS-driven website with an interactive game engine.

What We Delivered

Built for a Programme That Keeps Evolving

The AfriCircular platform contains information that changes regularly, from programme content and initiatives to projects and other resources.

Because of this, the client needed to be able to manage and update the platform without relying on developers for every content change.

We therefore built the platform around a content management system (CMS), giving the client control over the information presented on the website and allowing the platform to evolve alongside the programme.

This makes the website more than a static digital brochure. It serves as an ongoing digital resource that can be updated as new content, projects, and programme information become available.

Making Circularity Learning More Engaging

The client also wanted to address a different challenge: making circular economy concepts easier and more enjoyable to learn.

To support this, we built an interactive game engine into the platform. The experience was designed to introduce users to circularity concepts in a more engaging way, moving beyond traditional text-based learning.

The aim was to make the subject feel approachable and interactive without losing the educational purpose behind it.

Designed for a Multilingual African Audience

With the programme reaching audiences across Africa, the client required the platform to be accessible to both English- and French-speaking users.

We implemented the platform in English and French, allowing users to switch between the two languages and access the platform's content in their preferred language.

This was particularly important for making the platform accessible to Francophone audiences and ensuring that language was not a barrier to engaging with the programme and its resources.

The Outcome

The result is a dynamic digital platform that brings together programme information, circularity projects, educational content, and interactive learning in one place.

The platform gives the AfriCircular Innovators Programme a central space to share its work with cohorts and the wider public, while giving the client the flexibility to continuously update its content.

By combining a CMS-driven platform, bilingual accessibility, and an interactive game engine, the website provides a more accessible and engaging way for people to discover and learn about circular economy innovation across Africa.
